Polaris is a leading example of urban renewal in Melbourne’s inner north. Complete in 2012, the once vacant site saw Woolworths, Dan Murphy’s and 26 retailers open doors along with 64 apartments. Since opening in 2005, DOC Football Academy has provided hundreds of children in the local area with high-quality coaching and opportunities to pursue their dreams as footballers. Head coach and owner, David O’Connor has a passion for developing young players to harness their potential.
Since 2010 DOC Football Academy has also run an extremely successful special needs program. This program has grown to become one of the largest of its kind, providing opportunities for children to be active, socialise, learn and grow as individuals. In the coming years, David is committed to the continued growth of this program to provide opportunities for all children regardless of their abilities.
