After another strong performance, the Ressies took their 3rd consecutive win after a battle with Ballarat. Playing their strongest opponent so far in the 2007 campaign, La Trobe got off to a good start with Aaron putting away 1-0 15 minutes into the game.
2-0 came after a strong run by Sarkis, who head-passed the ball to Marco, who yet again showed us all that size doesn’t matter, scoring a flying header. The goal might well stand to be the goal of the year. Marco’s comment to this was: “Nah mate. Still more where that came from.” Let’s hope he’s right.
Before half-time Ballarat got one back after a slight misunderstanding between Boz and Gandi in goals, but La Trobe put up a good fight all through second half – lifting their game and not allowing Ballarat the same time they had in the first half.
Thanks to a strong defence 2-1 stood until full time and the Trobers could yet again sing “La Trobe Ole!”.
