The reserves team managed another 0-0 draw against Cairnlea, making it three games ina row without scoring a goal.
University started off best, with Bozza up front (surprise of the day) working hard winning most of the headers. Unfortunately La Trobe still lacked the cool inside the 18-yard box and could not capitalize despite owning the first half.
Cairnlea came out a differnt team in the second half, putting more pressure on the opposition and almost managed to take advantage of some of La Trobe's mistakes, especially when La Trobe got caught out high in the offensive thrid. Gandolfo made a couple of crucial saves to keep the Trobers in the game. Offensively La Trobe still created half-chances with Boz flicking on the ball every time, but there was never anyone to pick it up.
La Trobe defended well through the whole game, and has only conceded 7 goals in 11 games, making it the best defensive team in the league. On the other hand it has only scored 16 in 11 games, which needs to improve if the team is going to have a go at the flag.
